Adults play an integral role in developing literacy skills in children of all ages.
Supporting the early years
Many of the library’s programs and services focus on supporting early childhood educators and parents of young children. Research emphasizes the importance of the early years in brain development and how crucial it is to provide language-rich experiences for children under the age of five. We want to help set the stage for later success in school and a lifelong love of learning.
Supporting school-age children
The library also recognizes the importance of supporting parents and teachers working with elementary, middle and high school children. The programs and services we offer primarily focus on reading skills support.
