The new kids' library card has arrived
Posted Date: November 15, 2012
The new kids’ library card is now available at the Port Moody Public Library!

This summer, kids cast nearly 10,000 votes in the Port Moody Public Public Library’s children’s card contest. Three great designs were created for the new children’s card, and kids aged 12 and under voted for their favourite image all summer long. Over 4,000 votes were submitted for the winning design: the Monster Party card.

This fun new library card is now available for kids to pick up at the Port Moody Public Library. It’s free to get a new card, or to swap your existing card for the new design. As a special bonus, kids who drop in to pick up their new library card in November and December will be entered in a weekly book draw.

There’s just one catch: only kids aged 12 and under can get the exclusive Monster Party design. So sorry, adults: this one is just for kids!

To pick up the new library card, kids must visit the Port Moody Public Library in person. If you are aged 12 and under and you have an existing library card, just swap it for a new one at the circulation desk. If this is your first library card, you will need your parent or guardian to bring in their own identification, and a piece of your identification.

Library cards are always free, and they offer access to thousands of fantastic books, movies, music, online resources, and more. Drop in and pick up your new kids’ card today!

The Children’s Card Project was funded by the “Links to Literacy” golf tournament. For more information on the new kids’ card, contact the library at 604-469-4577, or askthelibrary@portmoody.ca.
